Position – Production Supervisor - Fabrication
The production supervisor is responsible for assigning production resources, both human and technical to accomplish production goals. The right candidate will have extensive (7-10 years) experience in supervision in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of CNC Brake, Turret, Weld and Laser operations preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring production goals are met or exceeded, including yield, throughput, and quality
- Requires excellent written communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Leading, managing, hiring, and training of production employees
- Promoting and ensuring a safe work environment, including training production employees and adhering to Company and governmental policies and regulations
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement techniques
- Preparing daily production schedules and ensuring schedule adherence
- Working with maintenance and engineering to optimize the equipment performance and reliability.
- Managing employees’ performance via a formal performance management system. This will include discipline, compensation, incentive systems management, and goal setting
Experience
· Knowledge of metal fabrication equipment, Press Brakes and Shear machines
· CNC Programming, Metal Soft and Fabri Win
· Experience managing within ISO9000 quality systems
· Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or one of its methods
· Strong computer skills
· Ability to demonstrate strong people management and motivational skills through previous positions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field. Production experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Seven or more years in production supervision experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong management and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to effectively manage a diverse group of employees
- Excellent working knowledge of safety and environmental practices and regulations
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and other process improvement processes.
- Solid mechanical knowledge, including machine operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
